A comp is a prototype or design of the layout.

Copyright is a category of intellectual property providing protection to the authors of “original works of authorship,” including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works.

Copyrighted is attached to a work as soon as it is created, a notice of copyright may be placed on all publicly distributed copies under the authority of the copyright owner.

Deliverables is in Flash and Photoshop, the items identified to show design concepts or progress of a project. In Dreamweaver, a list of items identified during the planning and analysis stage that the project needs in order to meet the defined criteria.

Derivative work is a work that is based on or derived from one or more existing works (and previously published).

Design comp is created during the building stage it is a sketch of the layout, presented to the client either on paper or in graphics-editing application.

Fair use doctrine allows the copyrighted work to be reproduced or altered for a variety of reasons including news reporting, teaching, parity, and research.

Intellectual property refers to creations of the mind and may include copyrights, trademarks, patents, industrial design rights, and trade secrets.

Mockup is the design in electronic format. 

Project scope is a way to verify you have met the job specifications of a project, and estimate how long it should take. 

Publication is define by the 1976 Copyright Act as the distribution of copies of a work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease or lending.

Scope creep refers to changes in the requirements of a project as the project is being constructed; a problem that can arise during development.

Target audience individuals identified that will be using the specified content, for example a website, rich media content, or a design project.

Animals, Initials, Masking, & Textures


I made my snail by putting the letter “J” on the side and did the same for the “S.” The letter “J” is the skin/slime of the snail. Half of the letter “S’ is also the skin/slime of the snail and the other half is the snail shell. I came up with the idea of a snail because how I work is slow and steady, but also I take my time on things. I learned how to paste a picture over letters and also how to fill in letters with the same picture. I will try to make something like a poster or another picture like this with these tools.

True Colors


I am in search of myself.

I learned that I am most of these. I have tried this exercise and gotten the same color. I thought the exercise was fun and nice.  I got to learn what my true color was. Even though I tried this before, I still like the idea of finding your own true color. You get to know who you really are.

An Image of Form

One of the forms in this logo is juxtaposition. The color Domemart is blue and the symbol next to it is yellow. Top and bottom is also used. Many people read things from top to bottom so people would read first, “Domemart.” The top part is important information people read first. After reading Domemart, they would read, “Save money. Live another day.” Left to right is also used in this. The people would most likely read the blue text first then look at the yellow. The left sides is greater importance. The color blue symbolizes confidence or intelligence. The color blue slows down the human metabolism and produces a calming effect to the person. The color yellow symbolizes joy or happiness. It evokes cheerful feelings. The first thing that pops out to many people is the yellow star/symbol. There is also vertical lines in this logo which are used for a sense of elegance and stability.
